PROGRAM: MVCC Professor Larry Migliori will Critique ONE piece of work for each member. Larry is known for his photographs and cartoons, but has taught many media and design classes in college and Rome City
Schools.

Board Of Directors Meeting:6:30 PM, Thursday, September 1st at the RACC.
RAA Members, Tanner Abel, Tyler Baldwin, Pat Besl, Joe Klockowski, Beck
Petrie and Lorraine Stewart created an Abstract Expressionist painting
as they walked in the Honor America Days Parade in Rome on July 30th.
The almost 5' by 6' painting now hangs in the foyer of the RACC. A big thank
you to Becky Petrie who designed the parade shirts and to B & T Printing
for making them free of charge.
Our 52nd Annual Membership Exhibit is outstanding this year.
Congratulations to Tanner Abel who won Best Of Show for his photograph
"Insanity."
The exhibit continues through September 1st. Members should pick up
their work September 1st between 10 AM and 6 PM or at our meeting that
evening. Many thanks to all that helped with the show, especially our chair,
Lauren Getek, and Brenda Antonowicz, Tanner Abel, Tyler Baldwin, Pat &
Tom Besl, Joe Klockowski, Marsha & Becky Petrie, Sarah & Gary Price, Lucy &
Jim Service and Richard & Jean Vollmer.
Drawings for our RAA Tee Shirt Contest are due at our September meeting.
Remember, no more than three colors. The chosen design will be printed on
good quality shirts and sold as a fundraiser.
REMEMBER: It is time to renew your membership in the Rome Art
Association. Thank you for your past and continued support. Our membership
year begins on September 1st. Dues are still $ 15 and $5 for students, payabe
by mail to RAA, PO Box 801, Rome, NY 13442-0801 or at our membership
meeting.
Congratulations to: Sarah Price who took Best Of Show in the National
Humor In Art Competition. Sarah also has an exhibit in the RACC Library which continues until September 1st.
Daisy Clinton, Life Member of RAA and longtime member of RACC, is
liquidating her library of fine art books. There are dozens of popular
titles from which to choose, discounted at 75%--80% and more. Most of these
books are in mint condition and cover various fine art techniques, such as oil, painting, sculpture, lighting, watercolors,etc. to arrange an examination of this library, please contact Tom Clinton at 315-623-9689.
