RAA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING: 6:00 PM, May 5, 2011 at RACC prior to regular meeting.

have announced the slate of Officers and Board Members to be voted on at our
May meeting. They are: 
President-Jane Taylor; 
1st Vice President-Pat Besl;
2nd Vice President: Ann Hurlbut;
Past President-Tom Besl;
Recording Secretary-Kristie Boisen;
Corresponding Secretary-Jean Vollmer; 
Treasurer-Richard Vollmer;

Board Members-Bernie Hurlbut and Sarah Price.
Nominations may also be taken from the floor.

Many thanks to Lauren Getek for last month's workshop on fused plastic
"canvas." Our members came up with some creative applications for this fun
and easy technique. Also to Grace Tagliaferri for providing the delicious
refreshments.

Once again the RACC has invited the RAA to be part of their Estate Sale. The
event takes place Saturday,May 14th and Sunday May 15th, from 9 AM -3 PM. If
you have donations you would like to make on behalf of the RAA, bring them
to the Center on May 12th,10 until 6 or May13th 10 until 2. they will be tagged for the RAA and profits go to our scholarship fund. Artwork, art supplies, aestheticly pleasing and in good condition is appreciated.


Tom Besl's "Tardis Garden" was awarded Best Of Show at the Utica Art
Association's Member Show.  Becky Petrie has multiple pieces of art in the
Pratt MWP Freshman Exhibition in the School Of Art Gallery. It remains on
view until April 29th.


Several of our members are teaching classes as part of the Creative Arts
Program at the RACC: Jane Taylor-two Sumi-e workshops Sunday, May 15th and
June 12th from 1-4 PM and a 6 week  figure drawing class starting Thursday,
May 26th from 6-8 PM;  Digital Camera with Doug Ouderkirk is a 6 week class
starting Monday, May 2nd from 6-8 PM; Lauren Getek teaches Graphic Design
Fundamentals for Beginners, Thursday, May 26th, 6:30 until 8:30 PM. For more
