PROGRAM: RAA Vice President Lauren Getek will present a workshop on recycling plastic bags to make unique layered artworks.  These pieces can also be used as “canvases” for paint or mixed media.

*Sarah Price and her father, Gary Price are giving a website to the RAA. They have donated the domain name and hosting. Sarah will design and maintain it. It will contain information about the RAA, membership applications, news, links to member’s websites and an image of your artwork with a short bio if you wish. Check out:www.romeartassociation.com.

*Have you seen the “Clockwork Puppets”? Look for RAA member Alice Dennis on channel 33 at 10 AM on Sunday mornings.

*Sandra DeVisser will teach painting with any water media, with Acrylics preferred, starting on April 7th, 1 to 4 PM for 8 weeks ending on May 26th. Jane Taylor will have a figure drawing class. *Sandra DeVisser will have a show in The Artful Lodger in Clinton from September 15th until December 17th. Opening reception is to be announced.  Jean Vollmer will have her artwork displayed at the Rome Community Theater during the May performances.

RAA member, Jane Grace Taylor, just completed a mural of angels at St. Joseph’s Church in Lee Center. 

She has an exhibition next month at Altera Village in Clinton.  The artist reception is on April 5th at 2 p.m.

PROGRAM: Each member is invited to bring one piece of work to be critiqued by Amy Bartell, artist, activist, and Professor of Art at SUNY Oswego. Amy has exhibited nationally in numerous juried and solo exhibitions., including the 2008 Everson Biennial in Syracuse. Last year, we enjoyed her informative uplifting critique and she had such a great time, that she promised to come back. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity.

Special thanks to Jane Taylor for her engaging critique at last months meeting. She is presenting a Sumi-e(Japanese brush painting) workshop on Sunday, March 20th from 1-4 PM at the RACC. RAA member Alice Dennis is presenting a variety of Needle Felting workshops at RACC. Make Embellishments, Faces, Painted Eggs, Spring Flowers and Rabbits at five different workshops starting this month. For more information call 336-1040 or www.romeart.org at RACC.

Sarah Price, a new RAA member will be exhibiting her computer graphics at Rome Community Theater during their next production March 10,11,12th and 16,17, 18th.

Judi Tarr donated a collection of art books to RAA for last year’s Estate Sale. The remaining books will be offered for sale at reduced prices at our March Meeting.

Note:If your dues for 2011 have not been paid by March 1st, this will be your last Brushmarks.
